QuoteAmerica is not a contractor

QuoteAmerica is not a general contractor, a home improvement contractor, a roofer, a remodeler, or a tradesperson of any kind. We hold no contractor's license. We do not perform, supervise, manage, inspect, warrant, guarantee or insure any home improvement work. We do not employ, control or direct the contractors to whom we refer you, and they are not our agents, partners, employees or representatives.

Independent third-party contractors

All work is contracted directly between you and an independent third-party contractor. Your contract is with that contractor alone. QuoteAmerica is not a party to it and has no liability arising from it, including for the quality, timeliness, safety, code compliance or cost of any work performed, or for any property damage or personal injury.

No endorsement or verification

Inclusion of a contractor in our network is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation or guarantee. We make no representation regarding any contractor's licensing status, bonding, insurance coverage, workmanship, financial condition, reputation, background, or pricing.

Protect yourself before you hire

  • Ask for the contractor's state license number and verify it directly with your state licensing board, not with the contractor.
  • Request a current certificate of insurance for both general liability and workers' compensation, sent to you directly by the insurer.
  • Get at least three written bids on an identical, itemized scope of work.
  • Confirm in writing who pulls the permit. A licensed contractor should pull it in their own name.
  • Be wary of unusually large deposits. Many states cap the deposit a contractor may collect. Tie payments to completion milestones and withhold final payment until your walkthrough and any required inspection are complete.
  • Never pay in cash, and be cautious of anyone who solicits door to door after a storm.
  • Read the entire contract, including the warranty, the change-order procedure and the dispute-resolution clause, before you sign.

Cost and savings figures

Any cost range, price or savings figure shown on this site is illustrative and based on general market data. It is not a quote. Actual project cost depends on scope, materials, local labor rates, site conditions and conditions discovered after work begins. Only a contractor who has inspected your property can quote your project.
